Information Operations


On a white and black disc 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in diameter divided diagonally from left to right, edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) green border, consisting of a crossed sword point up, silver gray blade and hand guard, yellow grip and pommel and yellow lightning flash.


First Information Operations Command (LAND) is a branch immaterial multi-component unit, with Operations, Intelligence, Signal and PSYOP tasks and provides for new and important forms of warfare. The green circle symbolizes the worldwide operations of the unit, emphasizing the "LAND" aspect of their mission. The black and white colors represent the unit's continuous "round the clock" watch. The lightning flash denotes speed and the Command's ability to strike wherever and whenever needed. The sword denotes the unit's responsibility and ability to defend and protect all forces.
