The men of the 101st Airborne Division were engaged in operations against the following enemy forces: The North Vietnamese Army Regiment in the Phu Loc District, the 5th North Vietnamese Army Regiment in the vicinity of Nam Hoa Mountains, and also eliminated 95 percent of the enemy infrastructure in Phu Vanh, Phu Loc, Phu Thu, and Vinh Loc Districts. They effectively protected National Highway I, and the Da Nang to Hue Railway, and inflicted many casualties on the C-116, C-117, and C-118 North Vietnamese units, thus eliminating the insurgents' capabilities to shell Hue City during TET of 1969. The soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division always displayed high morale in fighting for the freedom of and reconstruction of facilities for the people in the Republic of Vietnam during the period 19 July 1968 through 14 May 1969.
