The beret flash was approved on June 16, 2000
On a Scarlet shield-shaped embroidered device with
semi-circular base, 2 1/4 inches (5.72cm) in height and
1 7/8 inches (4.76cm) in width edged with a 3/8 inch
(.96cm) Yellow border, a yellow notch on each side at
the horizontal center line, four diagonal lightning
flashes conjoined from upper right to lower left
consisting of four colors, Black over
Red over White over Green.
It was constituted and activated on
July 16, 1987 in the Regular Army as the
1st Field Artillery Detachment at
Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
