Paul opposes Peter;...(our love doesn't stop, if we take action!)

If you're a parent then you know that no matter what your child does your love never changes. You love them just as much when they're bad as you do when they're good.
You don't stop loving them when they do something wrong.

If we stop loving someone, then we never loved that person to begin with. There are those that I truly love (kids for one) and will never stop loving them, no matter what they do. Now, if they do something bad, their bad behavior will cause me to change my action towards them but it doesn't change my love for them.
The only thing that changes is my action towards their behavior.

The enemy will try and tell us we don't love that person or that person is just un-loveable, but what's really going on is.... the love remains but an action will be taken. We take action according to behavior towards us, but the love will always be there.

I also think we should be careful in saying someone may not love us just because they have taken action against our undesirable behavior, hehe. We all have boundaries and we all have limits in our relationships with people. We have to, or we might as well just let them have total control over our lives.

If we live by conviction of the Holy Spirit, and Jesus is Lord of our life-- not others, then there will be times when we will have to take action against those who oppress us with their behavior.
Protecting our spiritual walk is a responsibility we have as a Christian. We are empowered by his word! We don't just hear the word, we live by the power of His word! It is by His power and grace that we walk what we talk, keeping our integrity.

Amen!!!

Below you will see how Paul opposed Peter and took action (publicly) against Peter for Peter's behavior/hypocrisy.

Quote:

Gal 2:11
But when Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was to be blamed.

Gal 2:12
For before some came from James, he ate with the nations. But when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those of the circumcision.

Gal 2:13
And the rest of the Jews also dissembled with him, so as even Barnabas was led away with their dissembling.

Gal 2:14
But when I saw that they did not walk uprightly with the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before all, If you, being a Jew, live as a Gentile, and not as the Jews, why do you compel the nations to judaize?

Gal 2:15
We Jews by nature, and not sinners of the nations,

Gal 2:16
knowing that a man is not justified by works of the Law, but through faith in Jesus Christ; even we believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith in Christ, and not by works of the Law. For all flesh will not be justified by works of law.

Paul did not stop loving Peter, he just took action. He had to because others were being led away from the truth, the gospel of Christ.

Re: …

emoticon This thread applies to anyone/everyone we love, but our kids have a love from us that is unconditional, like God's love for us only God loves us even more than we love our kids, hehe.
That's why I included "our kids" so that we can recognize the love we're suppose to have for each other, our brothers and sister in Christ.

We don't stop loving each other just because we take an action against one another. The love never dies! Halleluiah! And we won't let the enemy convince us otherwise.

Poor thing, she doesn't realize what a blessing this is, but she'll look back in years to come and see what great things God has done in her life.
A little grief now is better than the best years of her life spent on someone who isn't strong enough to love her.
